Last year at this time I was overrun with pond lettuce, hyacinths and pickerel.
This year there is very little of anything.
I didn't have to buy any lettuce or hyacinths this year. Did winterizing them in the house this year stunt their growth? During spawning, the fish would chow down on the roots. But we would switch fresh ones back and forth from the other pond so they could recuperate. We used EcoFix and Aqua Fix several times this year to clear up the water. (No problem getting algae to grow) The hyacinths and lettuce I have are very puny looking. Do I want to winterize them again this year????
