SPRING HAS ONCE AGAIN ARRIVED - SORT OF
Today is the second day of Spring. It has been rainy and cold all day. The Weather Channel says we could have storms later this evening, but I think it is too cool for that. I don't think it has gotten to 50 degrees today.
Although we have been looking for the last several days, we still haven't seen any purple martins. They have definitely gotten here this early before, but they are slow this year. Maybe they are waiting for the weather to stay nice. I have seen them before in a cold rain and huddled on the porch of their house.
We have set out our vidalia onions in the garden. Maybe in another week or too I'll be ready to set out tomatoes and peppers.
Cleotis is still in the aquarium. We were able to also bring in some water lettuce and other water plants and kept them alive throught the winter. I kept everything in a window with a southern exposure. I still have 2 water hyacinths. One is looking sick. Warm weather needs to hurry up and get here for them.
The jonquils have done well, but just about gone. My tulips are just now opening up. Easter is this next Sunday and too early for pictures in front of the dogwoods and lilacs. It may be another month before they bloom.
