CLEOTIS
This is Cleotis our pleco. Running a search on the web we are pretty sure he is a Trinidad Plecostemus. But to us, he is just Cleotis. We have had Cleotis ever since we got our coy pond, which is about three years now. And, each fall we would catch Cleotis and keep him in our aquarium to protect him from the cold weather. This year Cleotis nearly didn't make it. With our enlarged pond and murky water, we just could not see him. He made it through several frosty mornings that started killing back the plants. We pulled out all the flower pots, cleaned out the filter, and treated the water with algae clear. Still couldn't find Cleotis. It was about Thanksgiving time and our friend Harold was here when we spotted Cleotis hiding between rocks. Harold helped to scoot Cleotis towards the waiting net and he was caught. Cleotis now sits in a south window trying to stay away from the incoming sunlight. We wonder if he knows how lucky he is. Especially after the recent single digit temperatures we had just before Christmas.
