GROW YOUR OWN CELERY

I saw this on Pinterest.
You cut the root end from a celery stalk, place it in water and watch it grow.
I placed it in the kitchen window, and low and behold it started to grow.
The next step will be getting it to grow in dirt. Hopefully with Spring and warmer weather, that will go easily also.

BIRTHDAY COOKIE TIME

When there is a birthday in the family, I bake a large cookie for the honoree.

And like today I got to pick up the Grands from school.
They all get a cookie to decorate how they like

The birthday honoree gets to decorate the big one.

Families love tradition.

ICY IN THE RIVER VALLEY

Pretty icy in the River Valley this morning.
Sweetie had to work to get turned around in the driveway
I stayed in the grass and used my umbrella as a walking stick to go get the newspaper.
Someone said the freeze might reduce next summers flea and tick population; also a certain borer that has been damaging trees.   (Up side!)

FLASHBACK TO WARMER DAYS

Last summer we celebrated our 45th anniversary.
Celebrations seem to always involve food.
#Catfish 'N on the river was delicious.

WINTER WEATHER

Before the next round of bad weather, the governor has already declared a state of disaster.  Something to do with authorizing trucks to haul propane to keep from having a shortage of heating fuel.

Weather wise, the up side to this time of year is that each day our daylight time will grow by at least one minute. It helps ones feelings anyway.
